"Time management is beyond our control, and the
clock keeps ticking regardless of how we lead our lives. Priority management is
the answer to maximizing the time we have." ~John C. Maxwell
"I am definitely going to take a course on time management...just
as soon as I can work it into my schedule." ~Louis E. Boone
"Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but
today is a gift. That's why it's called the present." ~Bil Keane
Psychiatrist and author M. Scott Peck said: "Until you
value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will
not do anything with it." We do not pay for things with our money, we pay
for things with our time. The question then becomes what value do we place on
our time and what are we willing to trade for it?
A great way to manage your priorities is to think DO,
DELEGATE, or DUMP. Is it something you have to do yourself? For instance, if
you are a parent, you are the only one who can fill that particular role. If it
is work related maybe you would do well to learn the art and skill of effective
delegation. If it is something that eats away at your time you may determine
that life would be better served if you dump it.
